Being a numbers guy, I love Article V of the U.S. Constitution. It’s short and to the point. It describes the two ways of proposing amendments to the Constitution. The first is by Congress (the usual way), and then there is the extraordinary way--a Convention of States.
This is a simple flowchart type graphic that I created of this simple process. I’m a programmer, so flowcharts are what I do.
The particulars are that it takes 34 states to call a convention, the states pass a proposal at convention by a majority vote of the 50 states invited, one state one vote. The proposals that are passed in convention go to the states, either legislature or ratifying convention, to either be ratified or not. If 38 (three fourths) of the states ratify any one proposal it becomes an amendment, the law of the land.
Go to http://conventionofstates.com/?ref=39911 to find out more and sign the petition. Each petition signed is sent to your state legislator and together they push your representative to support the Convention of States and forward our plan to restore our constitutional republic.
It won't be an easy battle but nothing worthwhile ever is easy. After all, look where 'easy' has gotten us.
