The USA needs a Convention of the States.

"Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country" - John F. Kennedy

The topics of convention are restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

Why we need one (If you need more reasons)

  • Congress widely overspends, constantly. That's why we are over $30 trillion in debt. (by the govt. way of figuring)

  • The federal government has far exceeded their limited constitutional authorities

  • Over 70% of the American people think the government is too big and does too much

  • It's time to return the fed's stolen power to the People and the states.

We have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious." - Thomas Jefferson, 1824, when the govt. had 8500 civilian employees. Now there are over 4 million.

Remember: Government big enough to supply everything you want is big enough to take everything you have...

The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases.

The Founders only gave the federal government the power to do about 30 things. When we asked them to regulate alcohol for Prohibition they had to do an amendment to get the power to do that. Has the government done anything like that lately?

"If, in the opinion of the people, the distribution or modification of the constitutional powers be in any particular wrong, let it be corrected by an amendment in the way which the Constitution designates." - George Washington, 1796 farewell address

The process is entirely state driven so it's insulated from any federal influence.

  • An abolishment of some agencies.

  • Virtual legislation, all but eliminating lobbyists.

  • Salaries of Congress members limited to twice the average Social Security income with cost of living adjustments equal to those of social security recipients

  • Repeal of the 17th amendment, giving states back the Senate.

  • Make tax day the day before election day.

Many think that if we just elect the right people the government will work fine again, they are wrong. As co-founder and constitutional attorney, Michael Farris, pointed out...we have a structural problem, not a personnel problem.
