Recently I angered some folks on Facebook because I asked them ‘Why are we waiting for word from an egomaniac to admit he needs our help to drain the swamp and save the country?’
Now Trump has done many good things, he is also human and has human flaws – pride being a huge one.
He has as a plank of his candidacy, and presidency, the ‘Drain the Swamp’ idea. Wonderful campaign strategy as a lot of people bought it and are still all in on that.
The reality is that the swamp numbers in the millions and exists because of structure defects within the governmental system. Even if Trump did manage to get rid of the over 5 million swamp creatures, the structural flaws that created the swamp would still remain.
It’s like a farmer trying to make swamp land suitable for farming…it takes many years before the land is even dry enough to farm and it may never be solid farm ground.
I grew up in a swampy rural area and saw it in real life. Even after a decade much of the reclaimed swamp land was never really dry because the underlying structure was never changed.
Try getting all of the ice out of a Minnesota lake in January, good luck unless you heat the water. Adding heat to the water changes the environment in which the ice thrives. In the same way, adding amendments that restrain the government change the environment in which tyranny (or the swamp) thrives.
There are two ways in which to get amendments proposed and the President is not one. Congress can propose amendments and so can the states. We all know that Congress will never vote to destroy the environment that enables their tyrannical behaviors.
The only option left to us is having the states propose amendments in a process called the Convention of States.
It’s either the Convention of States or living as a subject under some form of tyrannical rule. You decide which one you want for you and for future generations.
