For our children!

Eagle River and the surrounding area are great places to visit, and for some, to live. And the people I’ve met are wonderful as well….kind, helpful, friendly. Unfortunately there is discontent just below the surface for some.

I’ve recently heard some individuals, some being teachers actually, argue that teachers are being attacked over low proficiency scores and try to deflect by suggesting the that poor educational results are a state and/or national issue. (Teachers are not to blame for bad policy or law.)

And in the very next breath, these same individuals tell us that the things that are in the nation’s schools are not in Northland Pines. Based on the fact that things like CRT, SEL, pornographic novels, etc. are being reported as being part of these schools nationally and that these same schools are suffering from low proficiency scores like Northland Pines is, that it would be logical to question whether these same things were already here or soon would be.

But the price of gasoline didn’t rise when the Keystone pipeline was shutdown. Inflation hasn’t risen any due to excessive government borrowing and other poor money management policies. We have not seen shortages or empty shelves due to anything happening nationally. None of our businesses, churches or schools were affected by covid.

I think wisdom and logic left this nation about the same time as courage left and all that remains is ignorance, fear and arrogance in one’s ignorance. I continue to hold out hope that I am wrong, but actions from people like the ones described above only reinforce my conclusion.

Please prove me wrong...get educated, get back your courage, save this country before it is too late.

Do it for the children!
